Description

The front of the postcard is, largely, a color illustration of a map indicating how to get to the roller rink. At the top there is also a color illustration of the interior of the roller rink with "Queens Roller Rink / Queens & Horace Harding B'l'v'ds." in black print on top of it. The map has a legend titled "The Queen Roller Rink Via.." (in black and blue print) with the descriptive text underneath it all in black print: red dotted line: "8th Ave. Subway E or F Change at Express Stop for Local to Woodhaven Blvd."; blue line with dots: "Buses — easily accessible by all bus routes."; black "track" line: "Long Island Railroad — Rego Park Station."; light blue wavy line: "I.R.T. Subway (Flushing Line) change at Roosevelt Ave. for 8th Ave. Subway or Bus."; straight yellow line: "B.M.T. Subway (Flushing Line) change at Roosevelt Ave. for 8th Ave. Subway or Bus.". Everything printed on the back is in dark blue: down the middle: "...and Produced by Harry H. Baumann, 216 W. 18th Street New York, N.Y." with "E-6400" above it; right-hand side: "Post...d" in large print with a postage stamp area in the upper right-hand corner; left-hand side: "Queens Roller Rink / Queens and Horace Harding Boulevards / Elmhurst, N.Y. - Tel. NEwtown 9-5636 / Newest and one of the largest skating rinks in New York. Designed and built exclusively for the pleasure of roller skating. Complete sound proof construction—affording every possible advantange of the full tonal benefits from the Hammond Organ and Novacord.". Black stamped text on left-hand side: "Charlotte Drever, / 8947 - 92 Street, / Woodhaven, 21, N.Y. / Member U.R.S.S.E.". There seems to be some stamped and written text on the right-hand side, but it is illegible as the surface in that area has been ripped off.
