Context

Mining engineer John A. (Jack) Gilfillan left Caribou for Eldora 1889. He and a partner staked the Clara mine, and he also worked as the engineer at the Mogul Tunnel. He built several log cabins in Eldora. Jay B. Rowley was a resident of Boulder County for 50 years, and did extensive mining at Eldora and Nederland.
