Context

Memory Fan, 1890s 10 ½ in. Double canvas leaf with painted red wooden sticks and substantial but utilitarian guard sticks. Purchased in Falmouth, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. The original owner covered both sides of the fan with references to schools, hotels, clubs, and various businesses as well as a seemingly random assortment of statements such as Just a Little! and Do It Now!
