Red Globe-Shaped Oil LampContext
On a table in the northeast corner of the Cochran Bedroom sits an eye-catching cranberry red glass table lamp. It is an American-made oil lamp from the 1890s that has been electrified for modern use.
The table lamp has a molded brass base and a brass burner assembly, collar, and shade holder. The font and shade are made of cranberry glass decorated with water lilies and grasses in gold paint.
This lovely lamp was gifted to the Neill-Cochran House Museum by Ms. Katharine F. Fouts. You can see it, and all of our illuminating objects, Wed-Sun, 11-4pm.Acquisition
