Context

Greek, 20th century. Earthenware vase painted in a Grecian-style motif depicting Sophocles' Oedipus and the Sphinx. This vase was likely a tourist souvenior purchased in Greece. There is no record of the Cochrans visiting Greece, so this may have been a gift. The Cochran Collection, Gift of Mrs. Everett Dayton Bohls.
