Small Black Beaded Drawstring Bag, c. 1920s-1930s 5.75 x 6.5 in. at fullest Gift of Dorothy Knox Howe Houghton, 2020.01.01 This small black and grey striped beaded drawstring bag is made of a grey knitted material covered in a vertical striped design of black beads, with beaded loops to fit the black cord of the drawstring top through. The design of the bag is heavily influenced by the Art Deco style prevalent in the 1920s-1930s. Some other popular examples of the Art Deco style include the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building in New York City, and the fashion illustrations and artwork of Erté.
