"Kennecott presented eight major pieces of rolling equipment to the White Pine Historical Foundation. Ralph Orgill, representing the donating organization, Kennecott Mineral Co., cites history of 1950 diesel-electric locomotive--an in-plant switch engine for moving railroad cars full of ore--to Marshall Coopersmith and Jerry Martin (below) and, on platform, Robert Spellberg, Ely Mayor Barlow White, Joy M. Bybee first president of Friends of Nevada Northern Railway, and Dave Tilford, foundation chairman."
