"NN #401 and KCC #105 occupy the interlocking limits of the Western Pacific crossing at Shafter as the northbound Cobre Local works the WP interchange on Wednesday, August 4, 1982. Yes, those are indeed piggyback loads behind the locomotives, bound for the SP connection at Cobre. Following a short layover, the southbound train for Ely will slip through Shafter hours before sunrise on Thursday."
