Post card of the Children's Aid Society buildings in Chappaqua, New York. Established in 1853, the Society provided vital support to impoverished and orphaned children in New York City during a time when limited resources existed. They operated lodging houses, fresh air programs, and industrial schools, serving an estimated 30,000 children. The Society also pioneered the Orphan Train Movement. This building, pictured here, was acquired by the Children's Aid Society in 1908. This postcard was postmarked 5 March 1925 and addressed to Mrs. Jas.
