"Horace Greeley, Editor of the New York Tribune, and candidate for President of the United States against Ulysses S. Grant, hosted a campaign picnic for his supporters in the pine grove. The pine grove, planted by Horace Greeley, exists today alongside the Church of Saint Mary in Chappaqua, N.Y."
