This was the first of two depictions of this scene, the later dating to 1971 and is also in the NCHS collection.
Charles John Lindenthaler (1902-1975) was a professional artist, designer and decorator who often based his work on folk art styles. To render this scene of the vanished past, he drew upon a print and a photograph from the 1870s.Made/Created
