Stereographic photograph of the pine grove in Greeley woods with two men resting against the trees, circa 1872. Handwritten in the back of the original "View of the interior of pine grove, Chappaqua, 1872". Also handwritten in the back of the copy reads "Row of evergreens planted by Greeley as a wind breaker. Now on property of Church of St. Mary the Virgin. View looking north to entrance to concrete barn hay loft. Cattle entrance at southeast corner facing camera group of visitors. Mr. Greeley in front of House in the Woods" - The photo paper was cut in half since it had another picture next to it (1970-11-9) and so was the note.
Photo mounted on cream mat/card.
Original is missing second half.
