This building, in the process of being moved, originally stood on the site of Newcastle's community hall. It was put up for auction in 1921 prior to being moved before construction began on the new town hall. Samuel Bonathan opened the bidding with a bid of $500, fully expecting that the bidding would continue. But there were no more bids, so Mr. Bonathan expectedly found himself the new owner. The building was moved to the corner of Church and Emily Streets, converted into a duplex, and rented for $15 a month per unit.Collection
