Clarington Mayor Diane Mahre closes the time capsule which was filled during a celebration of the opening of the new building at the Clarke Museum and Archives, at Kirby. On Sunday, April 13th, visitors were invited to place their messages into the capsule, which is to be opened on the museum's 50th anniversary, in the year 2020. Shown with Mayor Hamre is Museum Board Chairman, Brian Jung. Mayor Hamre noted that a new building to store and display the museum's collection had been a dream of the museum board for over 17 years. The addition has about 2,500 square feet of heated storage/display space. At the official opening, the mayor paid tribute to all those who made the building possible.Collection
