Sunday Dec 27 1942. Hello Folks, We are at the U.S.O writing letters. Just finished our dinner of Turkey and the stuff goes with it. Thank you very much for the present. I'll smell pretty now. I haven't been using any shave lotion or powder. I use it now that the boss is here tho. Helen got me a set too. I got a muffler and glove set, socks, billfold + money for Xmas. I did darn good. I didn't get so many cards tho unless they all came since left last Thursday nite. Well didn't send many either. I got one from Ray Dixon. With his address. I just finished writing him a note. First I’ve had written to him. Were your folks home for Xmas? or did you have to work? You said you thought you would be off this Xmas. I recken you stayed sober ha ha. Frank you'll have to drink your own liquor from now on. I've drank your share long enough. I haven't been doing any to speak of at all, since being in here. I had a shot Xmas morning and it made me kind of dizzy. You can judge from that. Pretty good picture of you in the R.O.P. But remember I had mine in the Tribune and my face was dirty, Ha Ha (2) I've got a furlough due about anytime now. Feb. or March. Well will close for now wishing youins a very Happy New Year.
