A Newton Falls High graduate, George Prelac apprenticed as a shoe cobbler in 1942 with Sam Davies, Jim Poole and Vic Stimac apprenticed with him and their earnings were fifteen cents per shoeshine. Stationed in Oahu, Hawaii in 1945 hw was in charge of an even man shop. He married Betty J. Delvecchio in 1951 and they had five children and nine grandchildren. After forty four years of service, he retired as Chief of our Volunteer Fire Department. George has been saving our soles since 1942.Photograph Details
