George Drobransky and Mary Zupko were born in Czechoslovakia and came to America in 1911 and 1905., married in 1917. George was a coal miner in Drydock, Ohio for several years and wanted a better life for his family. He purchased Newton Falls property in 1921. In 1925 they moved here built Dobransky's Grocery and Meat Market on Maple Drive for the next 10 years. In 1938 they purchased Central Market from Mrs. Fay Davis on corner of Broad Street and Milton Blvd. For 25 years they operated Dobransky's New Central Market. Geogre deilved groceries to customers on the outskirts of town 2 to 3 times a week. Pictured here in 1925. They both could speak Slovak and Hungarian to foreign customers.
