Dear Frank & Alma,
Just a few lines to let you know I am ok and trust everything is well with you. I was sorry to hear of your mother's illness, Alma, and hope she is up and about by this time.
Thats a hell of a way to spend a week off Frank, painting a house I mean. I understand your a bit awkward at it. ha ha. Spilling a bucket of paint on the front porch, and not the right color either. Almost as bad as "The Chief" forgetting to out the middle out of the gasket on that steam line. Let him know that I haven't forgotten that when you see him will you.
Its been raining here off and on all day. Right now the sun is shining. Its not too chilly tho. Had another tooth filled this morning. That makes three filled and 1 out so far. Couple of more to fill and I should be through with him. He's done good work too.
Haven't been doing much. Out last nite drinking beer with the other Sgts here in the tent. We've been saving pennies and decided to spend them last nite.
Did see the show. For Whom the Bell Tolls. I liked it but didn't think it was as good as the talk about it. I saw Thousands Cheer and enjoyed the entertainment in it.
I rec'd the clipping you sent but I already had known about it for some time.
I'm a little stiff and sore today. We played football yesterday. We usually play touch but yesterday we played tackle. First I played for about 5 years. Well will sign off for now. Theres a formation in a few minutes. Was going to send a couple of pictures but don't know if we are allowed. Elva has some. She will have some copied and sent on to you.
