Thursday May 25, 1944 England Dear Folks. Just now rec'd your letter of May 15th. I think your wrote on the wrong paper. If you recall, the size of the paper you wrote on was half the size of this sheet I'm writing on. Of course you wrote on both sides tho so that evens it up. Still there are three sheets of this size, aren't there? There I go ending my sentences with a question. I am getting more British every day. We've got some coffee brewing on the stove, smells delicious. We had tea for dinner today. Our food has been swell here. I finally got my teeth all fixed. It took four fillings and a extraction to do it. Was surprised to hear that Helen had been home. I got a letter from her mother some time ago saying she expected her home the last of May. I wrote to Helen a couple of weeks ago. Will write to her again later to day. Wished she had came over to see you. Maybe that way you could understand what I didn't. I wrote to you a short while ago but I wrote something that had to be scratched out so I tore it up. Am sending them in this letter. Pictures I mean. Hope you like them. I was sorry to hear about Tom Sciring's death. He was certainly handicapped a long time wasn't he? He must have been about 45. Those horse hair paint brushes leave brush marks don't they? I'll bet it is a job. There is no Hawaiian disease over here. All the boys are faring pretty good at that stuff. Me? well I can dream can't I. He he. So Helens getting a double chin huh? Well we'd make a husky looking pair. I'm the heaviest I've ever been. But close to 190. Well will sign off and make room for the picture. Regards to everyone With Love, Chuck.
