Description

The school building stood on Center Street approximately where the former junior high school was located. It was the first known as the academy and housed all the students of the different union schools in 1860. The school was abandoned in 1898 due to major fire damage. First commencement 1878- two graduates 1920- new community building/high school built on the Center Street Complex. Grade building/junior high on corner of Jay and Center built and dedicated in 1927.
