The 23rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry (23 OVI) was an infantry regiment that participated in the American Civil War. The regiment was organized at Camp Chase (Columbus, Ohio) and mustered into duty June 11, 1861 as a three year regiment. 950 soldiers enlisted at the start of the war. They mustered out in July 1865 and did most all their fighting in the South.Photograph Details
