Description

Kuspuk, red calico cotton, light blue trim with rickrack. A tunic length hooded over shirt with large front pocket. This traditional Yupik garment originally was made of animal skin or gut and worn over a fur parka to keep parka clean. Later they appeared in bush stores made of cotton calico trimmed with rickrack. Kuspuks remain very popular today, worn by women as a blouse with pants. Looks like a hooded dress.
