Medal, award. Silvered metal medallion (once had attached ribbon and pin clasp). Medallion is embossed "Vimy Pilgrimage" to commemorate the July 16, 1936 embarking of 6,200 Canadian pilgrams sailing to Vimy France for the unveiling of the Walter Allward's Vimy Memorial. Canadians regard the WW1 Battle of Vimy Ridge as an iconic event in their nation's history.
