Scope and Content

Original manuscript of "Sourdough, Lucy Ware" by Lynn Worden Holmes. In real life Lucy Ware was Lynn Turner Worden, daughter of J.E. (John) Worden. The manuscript is the story for children which she wrote about her own childhood in Alaska in the early 1900s. The insulting language used by the author regarding local natives was considered acceptable by whites during this time, but unacceptable by later standards and was never published. J.E. Worden was a photographer and Wrangell's postmaster during the early 1900's. (This might be a copy of the original manuscript)
