The book was published by the Anderson Farm museum to compile the history of both the Creighton Mine and the town of Lively. The Creighton Mine opened in 1901 as an open pit mine, and underground mining began in 1906. It was originally owned by the Canadian Copper Company, later the International Nickel Company of Canada.
