Letter to Miss Saywell from Fred SlomanEntry/Object ID
2021.478.01Description
A letter written to Miss Saywell from Fred Sloman in 1930. It reads "Your parcel is already divided into packets and stockings to make a Christmas as the school car goes along its line. I am glad to have it early and all your things were bright and neat and well suited to make the parcels look really like Christmas time. This year there is not much work in the bush for the fathers so we are trying to make an extra good Christmas for the little ones. We have plenty of warm worn clothing already but it does not look cheerful enough. That is why I welcome the brighter things. Someone put a lot of care on the things you sent. We thank you too for the good wishes in your letter and hope that Christmas in our street will be mostly ladness too."Context
Written by Fred Sloman, sent from his school carCollection
