Context

Angus and Helen McKay lived and taught on school cars from 1935 until 1950 originally on Canadian National school car No. 4, then on Temiskaming Ontario Northern Railway car No. 1. In 1940 for two years, Helen took over as the teacher while Angus went to serve during the Second World War.
