Booklet, compilation of all yardmasters, conductors, yard foremen, yard helpers, enginemen, firemen, agents, operators, dispatchers, maintenance of way department, B & B department, and signal department employees throughout Ontario who are required to complete an oral examination and the dates by which the book "A"s and "B" examinations need to be completed. The booklet lists the employee's name, occupation, location, and the date by which the examinations need to be complete. All examinations are dated between January 1st to August 31st of 1963. Context

Original document, the document documents all oral examinations taking place between January and August in 1963. These examinations were mandatory and were conducted orally. Canadian National was created following the end of the First World War, by combining five lines which were financially troubled. It soon became the largest railway in the country. Canadian National Railways was founded in 1919 as a combination of several railways that had become bankrupt and were being ran by the Canadian Government Railways, its primary service was freight but also operated passenger service until 1978 until it was absorbed by VIA rail. The Canadian National Railways was created by the Government of Canada as a means to fund the failing railway corporations including: Intercolonial Railway of Canada, National Transcontinental Railway, Prince Edward Island Railway, and Hudson's Bay Railway.
