Note card containing C.H. Johnson's roast for Harold Prescott. The card contains hand written notes of Johnson's speech which was said during a roast of Prescott. Transcription: "My Pleasure to Roast Harold Prescott- I have roasted only Beef before- keep in mind Charlie Farquhsoni words- if your going to roast anyone it helps to be nuts! I first heard of HP in 51 - the named with Freddy ^ in Hornepayne just before I did. During the 50th he looked stunning ^ leading a Capreol Parade in white tie + tails - tall silk hat. pushing Mrs. Bills Borough's antique pram. Harold needed no practice having pushed 12- one dogen - baby carriages at home. He loved working for the Town often letting Mrs Burch win the arguments until she would say "Harold go out on the CNR and push your buttons - turn the nobs pull the levers or what ever ------ Harold was one of the wheels that put Capreol water up in the air. Suddenly everyone could see the bottom of the bathtub! He loves dandelions blooming golden on the river front. But flying in formation over his lawn waved bring him storming into the town office -where is that sot so son of a gun of a weed inspector. Remember Le and Ester drove the gift Engine to its final track! No matter of the yd everyone loves the [illegible] Having made the Sudbury Star and thus creating Prescott Park. Harold loves cats - he wants the same breed as his dog - the only dog allowed in the legion If Harold says "have one on me" he gives you - a rock. Context

Original document used by C. H. Johnson to record his roast of Harold Prescott. Prescott was born in 1911 in Killaloe Ontario, in 1938 he came to Sudbury to work for INCO. In 1941 Prescott was hired to be a locomotive fireman for Canadian National in Capreol, later he became an engineer. By 1951 he became a town councilor and in 1955 he became mayor and remained as mayor for 13 years (minus 1962-1963). He is responsible for the donation of CN engine 6077 to Capreol in Prescott park, he also is credited for designing the Capreol flag.
