Name/Title
Photograph, Young Street, Plexman Block, Capreol, Ontario.Description
A black and white photograph of Young Street, Capreol Ontario, in the 1920s. The photo is taken from the near side of Front Street (which runs diagonally left to right in the foreground) looking South East. On the right, the first building in the foreground is what is now (current, 2019) the M & R restaurant on Young Street (near Front Street). At the time of the photograph, it housed a billiard parlour, apartments and a dance hall upstairs. There is no gas pump out front, which dates the photo to pre-1922 (a single gas pump was installed in 1922). To the left of this building (from the perspective of the person looking at the photograph) is the Audion theatre. There is a single car on the dirt/gravel road in front, and two figures are visible, one walking down the side of the street, one crossing.Collection
