Canadian National branded issued dependent child of an employee trip pass. The pass was issued to Roland McKinnon, son of John Bergen McKinnon, a Canadian National locomotive fireman. The pass was valid for a round trip to Toronto On from Capreol ON and back to Capreol. It was issued on March 11th, 1948 and had to be used by the end of May 1948. The pass includes the areas to record: name, account, from, to, date issued, expires, address, required by, signature of Vice President, signature of J. H. Payne, F. H. Machin, N. A. Little. P. H. Context

Original document, original pass assigned to Roland McKinnon, son of J. B. McKinnon in 1948. Canadian National was created following the end of the First World War, by combining five lines which were financially troubled. It soon became the largest railway in the country. Canadian National Railways was founded in 1919 as a combination of several railways that had become bankrupt and were being ran by the Canadian Government Railways, its primary service was freight but also operated passenger service until 1978 until it was absorbed by VIA rail. The Canadian National Railways was created by the Government of Canada as a means to fund the failing railway corporations including: Intercolonial Railway of Canada, National Transcontinental Railway, Prince Edward Island Railway, and Hudson's Bay Railway.
