Book, biography of Aneas McCharles. Aneas McCharles was a teacher, speculator, geologist, prospector, community organizer and outspoken advisor to provincial and federal politicians.

Context

The book is based of off Bemocked of Destiny, which was published originally in 1908 as a condition of the last will and testament of Aneas McCharles. It was his account of life in the 19th century frontier. The story tells about McCharles' childhood and experiences living in Bruce County, London, Ottawa, and Toronto in the 1870s. McCharles also was part of the booms in mining and prospecting in Winnipeg and Sault Ste. Marie in the 1880s. During the last part of his life he was a prospector in the Sudbury Area, stalking the North Star Mine. The book also features the work of Martin McAllister and his research into the life and legacy of Aneas McCharles. The book is broken down into two books.
