Context

The book covers the history of the development of the canal. The canal was created from the of Prime Minister Sir John A. Operating the Canal - Operating the New System - The Establishment at the Sault - Collisions, Groundings and Blockages - Canal Traffic - The "Soo" as a System 5. Epilogue: The Rapids, the Canal and the Town - From "Suburbs" to Municipality - Economic Links - Social Links - Protecting the Lock - Continuity and Heritage
