Description

This colour photographic print shows Canadian Pacific steam engine No 2816 stopped at a station. There are two elderly gentlemen standing in front of it and a family standing near it father down the train. The engine is black with burgundy highlights with yellow text on them. The sky in the background appears white. There is black printed text on the back of this print. This photo was taken by Jim McRae.

Context

This photo was taken by Jim McRae in Sudbury in June of 2003. This object is part of the estate of the late Jim McRae. It was donated to the museum by Dale Wilson, to whom this object was given by Jim's wife. Jim McRae was a Sudbury area train enthusiast who had donated objects to the museum in the past. He passed away in the summer of 2010 at the age of 85. He came from Manitoulin Island but he worked on Sudbury as a projectionist at the Odeon theater for many years. His father was Gore Bay's only pharmacist.
