A grant of Patent to Moose Mountain Limited of Sellwood, Ontario, Canada, for Charles E. Herrmann's "Processes and Apparatus for Briqueting Ore Concentrates". All rights, title and interest in the invention having been granted to Moose Mountains Limited of Sellwood, Ontario, Canada. Signed and sealed by the Deputy Commissioner of Patents on 18th January 1916. The document includes eight pages of specifications by Charles E Herrmann describing his invention, four pages of his "claims" regarding the "improvements" provided by his invention, four pages of technical drawings, signed by two witnesses C.J. Hachenberg and [A].S. Hadley, and attorney Mitchell Allyn. There is also an extract from the Patent Act Chapter 69, Revised Statues of Canada 1906 printed on the inside back cover. The sheets are bound together with a green ribbon, and there is a official seal of the Patent Office of Canada, with the British coat of arms in the centre, at the bottom left corner of the front cover. The British coat of arms is also printed in black and white and centered at the top of front cover, underneath a "Dominion of Canada" banner. The Moose Mountain Mine, located in the township of Sellwood, Ontario operated from 1907 to 1920. The property was leased from the Moose Mountain Limited from Lowphos Ore, a subsidiary of the National Steel Corporation. It was an iron mine.
Sellwood became a ghost town shortly after the mine closed. In 1959, the National Steel Company began operating in the area and removed the remains of the previous townsite due to open pit mining. The new mine closed in 1978Collection

There is a slight crease vertically down the middle, and vertically along the left side of the sheet, to the right of the ribbon binding, where the sheet has been bent. There is also a deeper creases running from left to right across the top quarter of the sheet.The top left and right corners of the sheet are slightly creased where they have been folded over. Four holes have been punched in the paper, two in the top quarter of the sheets, and two in the bottom quarter. Small metal rings have been fastened in each of these holes, and the surface of these rings is slightly rusty.
