These patent petition documents for John E. Greenawalt's ore processing invention granted to Moose Mountain Ltd. is an example of the technologies being developed for the local mining industry (Sellwood Ontario, Moose Mountain Ltd.) in the early twentieth century.
The Moose Mountain Mine, located in the township of Sellwood, Ontario operated from 1907 to 1920. The property was leased from the Moose Mountain Limited from Lowphos Ore, a subsidiary of the National Steel Corporation. It was an iron mine.
Sellwood became a ghost town shortly after the mine closed. In 1959, the National Steel Company began operating in the area and removed the remains of the previous townsite due to open pit mining. The new mine closed in 1978.Collection

A small hole was punched in the top and bottom of each sheet on the left side for two metal fasteners. These were starting to rust and have been removed.
2019.003.004s This paper wallet is in very good condition. There is very slight wear along the fold in the covering flap where the wallet has been open and closed.Provenance
