Description

An agreement between Moose Mountain Ltd. (Principale) and Mackenzie Mann and Company Ltd.(Agent) regarding the cancellation of a previous agreement for the sale of lots in Sellwood, Ontario (previously Hutton Township). This agreement is signed by Charles E. Hermann, President of Moose Mountain Ltd. (No Personal Liability); Gillian Close, Secretary of Moose Mountain Ltd. (No Personal Liability); William Mackenzie, President of Mackenzie, Mann and Co. Ltd.; and R.P. Quinsby Secretary of Mackenzie, Mann and Co. Ltd.; and Witness K.A. McLaughlin. There is an official seal of Mackenzie Mann and Co. Ltd. at the bottom centre of the document, below the signatures, and an official seal of Moose Mountain Ltd. to the left above the signatures. There are four pages in total, folded inside a light blue paper casing which is blank. The documents are folded into fourths and stored inside a brown 4X91/2 inch "expanding wallet." (with 2019.003.009). On the wallet is printed: "BUSHENELL'S 'PAPEROID' (TRADE-MARK EXPANDING WALLETS. ALVAH BUSHNELL CO. PHILADELPHIA, PA. Patented Aug. 10th, 1909. On the front of the wallet is written "License Agreement between J.E. Greenawalt & M.M. Ltd. There is a brown cotton tie to hold the wallet shut. There is a piece of paper fixed to the front of the wallet with the words "Townsite Agreement, Moose Mountain, Limited, and Mackenzie, Mann & Co. Limited."

2019.003.010a-c: These documents are in good condition. The papers have been folded into fourths, and the folds are deeply creased from having been stored folded, preventing the documents from lying flat. These documents should be stored flat to prevent stress from folding and unfolding. There is a metal fastener in the tope left corner holding the documents together. This need to be removed by a specialist to minimize damage, and have been left alone for the time being. 2019.003.010d: This paper wallet is in very good condition. There is very slight wear along the fold in the covering flap where the wallet has been open and closed.
