Letters of Patent for Fred A. Jordan's application for his "improvements in methods of making briquets" granting the rights to Moose Mountain Limited. No. 1117853. Signed by T. Whitehead, Acting Commisioner of Patents at the United States of America Patent Office, on November 17th, 1914. The documents include a description of the invention written by Fred A. Jordan, a total of three pages, and a single page with a technical diagram of the invention at the beginning. There are four pages in total, enclosed in a paper cover and tied together with a blue ribbon.There is an official United States Patent Office seal (red, with the image of an eagle with wings spread in the centre) on the bottom left corner of the front cover. There is a black and white image of the Patent Office centered at the top of the front cover, inside an ornate frame. At the top of the frame is an eagle with wings spread, to the left and right there is a seated man, turned to face the patent office. At the bottom of the frame is the United State of America flag, inside a shield. The rear cover is blank.

2019.003.016a The front cover is in good condition. The paper has been folded into thirds and is deeply creased from having been stored folded, preventing the paper from lying flat. Four holes have been punched in the paper, two in the top quarter of the sheets, and two in the bottom quarter. Small metal rings have been fastened in each of these holes, and the surface of these rings is slightly rusty. 2019.003.016b-e These sheets are in good condition.
