Swedish letters of patent, no. 40002, issued November 14, 1914 and signed January 5th 1916 for fifteen years in the name of Alan Jordan for his improvements in methods of making briquets". Includes a letter regarding the patent from Julian Wooster, Counselor at Law, to Moose Mountain Limited (date May 9, 1917). The patent letters have four holes punched in the left side, with small metal rings inserted, and are tied together with light blue and yellow ribbon, affixed to the front of the document with the official seal of the Kingdom of Sweden patent office. The documents include three pages of description of the invention, from Fred A. Jordan, written (probably translated by another individual) in Norwegian . These are followed by a single page with a technical diagram, and further writing, in Norwegian, on the outside rear cover. 2019.003.019a: This document is in very good condition. The top right and left corners are slightly bent and creased where the paper has been folded over. There is some rust staining near the top left document where a metal paper clip was affixed to the document.
2019.003.019b: The front cover is in good condition. The paper is gently creased vertically down the middle where the document was folded. Four holes have been punched in the paper, two in the top quarter of the sheets, and two in the bottom quarter. Small metal rings have been fastened in each of these holes, and the surface of these rings is slightly rusty.
