The Victoria Harbour Lumber Company was founded by John Waldie in 1886 in the township of Simcoe, Ontario. It was an incorporation of three mills the Kean, Fowlie, and Power. However, John Waldie died in 1907, and at the time of his death the company was producing 200,000 board-feet per day and was the second largest of its type in Canada. By 1911 Victoria Harbour was the largest village in Simcoe County.
However, during the First World War, Mill No.1 was torn down, and Mill No.2 suffered a fire. By 1920 most of the commercial pine had been harvested. On November 26, 1927 the company ceased operations and the third- and last remaining Mill was torn down.Collection
