Book, originally titled "Pioneering the C. P. R.". The book describes the life and experience of Doctor William Howey and his wife, Florence Howey.

Context

Doctor William Howey took up work as a physician working for the Canadian Pacific Railway in Northeastern Ontario. The book is a first hand account written by Florence Howey about their experience moving from Hamilton Ontario to Mattawa Ontario in December of 1882. During their time living there they were responsible for caring for the Canadian Pacific Railway's workers. The book also discusses the development of Sudbury Ontario between 1883 and 1886.
