The sitter's pose is three-quarter position with her gaze directed at the viewer (or artist). She is wearing a cream colored satin dress with a neckline finished with a deep lace bertha. Her right arm is bent, with that hand extending to her left wrist where she touches a wide gold bracelet. The left side of the painting shows a deep red drapery with folds falling from top to bottom of the canvas.
