Virginia D'Shiel Robertson was born in 1857 in Robertson County, Tennessee, to Nathaniel H. Robertson and Sarah Grubb Robertson. She married Charles Alban Black in 1879 and they had at least 5 children. She died in 1908 and is buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
