Description

Plain calabash sewn into a stand and cover made with a woven raffia base, held by six red fabric covered strips decorated with chain of cowries sewn end to end that connect to a black horizontal strip around the base of the neck of the calabash also decorated with the cowries. The horizontal piece is connected by a red fabric covered handle to a cover for the narrow end of the calabash. The end cover is raffia wrapped, then covered with strips of red and black thick cording up to the end. The cover is decorated with cowries in groups of four flower shapes, and above the handle with a line of five buttons with two that spread to hold a cowrie flower shape.
