Edith Franklin’s lifetime contributions to craft as a potter, teacher, organizer and creative force have touched the lives of thousands. In her home territory of northwest Ohio, Franklin energized the art scene over the years, as founder of the Toledo Area Glass Guild, co-founder of the Toledo Potters Guild (with fellow ODC charter member, Joe Ann Cousino), lifetime board member off the Arts Commission of great Toledo, President of the Craft Club of Toledo and North Central Regional Representative to the American Crafts Council. She also exhibited her own award winning pottery throughout Ohio and Michigan with solo exhibits at the Toledo Museum of Art and Columbus Museum of Art.
