1905–1998 Edris Eckhardt studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art and taught ceramics there for almost three decades. Known both nationally and internationally for her work in bronze, glass and ceramics, Eckhart’s patrons include Eleanor Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, and Queen Elizabeth II. She has exhibited work at the 1937 World’s Fair, served as the regional supervisor of sculpture for the WPA, written numerous articles for Ceramics Monthly and been awarded two Guggenheim fellowships, among many other accolades.
