1906-2000 As Design Curator for the Akron Art Institute during the 1960’s, Luke Leitzke was a key player in the formation of Ohio Designer Craftsmen. A graduate of Michigan State and Art Institute of Chicago, she produced a strikingly original body of ceramic ware during the middle decades of the 20th century with her husband Rolland. They lived and worked in Mogadore, Ohio where, in addition to their pottery vessels, they created ceramic accessories and architectural pieces including mosaic murals, fountains, ceramic walls, garden lighting units and ceramic furniture. Both artists were mentioned regularly in Ceramics Monthly and Craft Horizons magazines throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Education: Michigan State and Art Institute of Chicago
