Photograph published in the 45th Division News, 27 November 1943, Vol. IV, No. 20, Caption "Paddlefeet are always on the lookout for more comfortable ways to do things, as can be seen in this homemade shower. A GI stove heats the water in a large dixie, a pump from a quarter-ton amphib pumps it from the dixie to a gallon can suspended over the bathers' heads, and the hot shower is complete. The figure with the towel is Pvt. Amerigo Bosso, Brooklyn, NY, and soaping Bosso's back is Pvt. William Pastore, Long Island, NY. The pumper inventor is Pvt. James Thyden, Worcester, MA."
