German Reichskreditkassenschein Five Reichsmark-1940-1945Description
German Reichskreditkassenschein Five Reichsmark-1940-1945Context
A few weeks after the beginning of the Second World War, Reichskreditkassenscheine were introduced, which were issued instead of cash at offices of the occupation authorities and partly also to the soldiers of the Wehrmacht in Poland and later in other occupied countries. This was intended to keep the Reichsmark within the German Reich and to prevent a creeping inflationary development in one's own country. Legal tender alongside the currency of the country in numerous occupied countries and territories during WWII.Collection
