US flag that flew over Clerval France after liberation by the 45th Division in 1944

Context

Presented to General Carter during National Guard staff ride in France in 2024. The flag was given to the town by 45th soldier in 1944 after the liberation. It flew in the center of town until it was retired and replaced with a larger US flag. Given to Carter by the town of Clerval to donate to the museum in November 2024
